I just Sprinkled & I loved it

When someone has their 2nd child, you wonder what can I do to help celebrate this blessing? You may think, I can't do another baby shower but what else can I do? My dear friend Kristin is lucky to have a sister Kim and mom Cathy that decided to through her a Sprinkle. No registry, no formality - just a small group of ladies celebrating all that is Kristin's motherhood while enjoying an amazing brunch at Winberie's in Oak Park.

I was thrilled to be able to contribute to the favors. The photo worked perfect!

Sisterly Love - Kim & Kristin

Kim, Mary, Kristin, & Cathy

The Sprinklers

BFFs :)

My favorite part of the whole morning was when we all went around the table and told Kristin what we admire about her as a mother. Kim had sent us all an email earlier in the week so I came prepared with a notecard. Only Kristin would appreciate my plan ahead nature. Here is what I wrote:

Kristin and I are a lot alike so I'm sure she is not surprised that I came with a notecard. Kristin is exactly the type of mom that I think I will be but more importantly the type of mom that I hope I will be. I love how Kristin focuses on the small things to show Milo that she loves him. It's the small things like getting out the Christmas train in July because he loves it so much. Kristin has raised Milo to be so loving and sweet. A few months ago, when he was leaving he gave me a hug and said, "I love you." It is in these moments where you see how she teaches Milo how to love but also how to make someone feel part of the family. And finally, the thing that I really admire about Kristin is her style! She makes curly hair look FAB on a little boys, has Milo in the latest fashions, and has decorated some amazing bedrooms for her boys. At the end of the day, I just want my kids to be as cute as hers.

Save room for the banner

Milo was one the first recipients of a name banner for his room but now that he is going to be a big brother in a few weeks, he has a new room with new decor. Here at Sew Snappy Productions we are all about themes and coordination so a new banner was in order! Mama Kristin has outdone herself again with a her decorating skills and designed a fabulous city themed room for Big Brother Milo.

Watch out world - Big Brother Milo is gonna run this city!

Stay tuned for the new baby's banner in a few weeks....

My sister-in-law-law, Amy Suarez is expecting her 1st baby and it's a girl.
Harper Suarez will be making her debut in November!

There is one "must-have" when it comes to new babies in my life - a custom name banner for the nursery made by yours truly. So, you are probably thinking, was that a typo - "sister-in-law-in-law?" Nope. Amy is the sister-in-law of my sister-in-law Dina - Amy married one of Dina's brothers, Tony. Amy and I have become great friends over the years and we came up with that title for each other after Bob & Dina's wedding.

Amy told me she was doing pale pink & green with a few bird accents.
Here is what I came up with...

New Dress a Day Inspired

Last year I came across an awesome blog, New Dress A Day, and I was completely inspired by the author's creativity. I have revamped some pieces in my closet and made some treasures myself. Here is my favorite attempt....

Simple dress from Daisy Fuentes for Kohl's that I got on crazy clearance last Fall. The built in "belt" was supposed to tie in the back but it looked ridiculous that way. I cut the front of the "belt" off, leaving just the ties. I planned to tie them in the front for a more flattering look.

Ann Taylor Loft necklace from last Fall. Very trendy style last year with the fabric necklace that ties around your neck. Not so trendy anymore but I loved the design.

Snip, Snip...Glue, Glue...Voila - New Dress!

I see you

My dear friend Nicole gave me this little plaque a few months ago and sits on my desk at work. I look at it everyday but some days I actually see it and realize how true it is.
